Comments on SB 567

Tammy Alvarado wrote 4 months ago

Please pass SB 567, The Homelessness Prevention Act, to protect GOOD renters (who pay the rent on time, follow the rules, and follow the lease agreement), from BAD landlords (who fail to maintain tbe property, 10% rent increases every year but refuse maintenance, tenant maintains property with money that is not deducted from rent due to GREEDY, SLUMLORDS, who know tenants are at their mercy due the the housing shortage, crisis, cost to move, and a fear of becoming Homelessness with children).
Michael Flores wrote 8 months ago

Would further frighten landlords to keep rentals empty for fear of squatters or sale rental.
Annette Shaughnessy wrote 6 months ago

Please support SB567 and prevent out of control homelessness in California. Landlords should be prevented from exploiting their tenants and evicting them in order to raise rental rates. Ensure a more just housing experience for lower income peoples which is racist and classist if it only effects those who make less income.
Kris Nelson wrote 4 months ago

My family of 3 has rented the same unit since 2008 never late, always on time even through the pandemic even though my hours were cut in 1/2. Landlord just gave us notice he wants us out so he can “remodel”…he wants to slap up some interior paint and double the rent. We’re already living paycheck to paycheck and can’t find anything comparable in the area for less than $700+ per month
