My son David Silva Bakersfield California was attacked by a police dog 🐕 Luke twice. He had numerous tears and bites all over. Google my son's case and not the full story is told but it will be one day. Dec 2015 guardian paper talks about police brutality in Bakersfield California and February of this year a documentary " Killing County. This Bill is needed in every state.

This bill if passed would severely danger the lives of officers and others who they are serving. K9 officers are not used lightly. K9 officers are used primarily in situations where suspected criminals are fleeing or hiding and there’s a danger to others.

Police canines make the community, Police Offers, and even suspects safer. The use of Police canines allows an additional less lethal force option that more times then not is a huge de-escalation factor. More times then not the presence of a Police canine ends in the surrender of a suspect without a canine biting or officers using force. Without the use of Police canines Officers will be placed in greater harm by having an unfair advantage of exposing themselves while attempting to find a violent fleeing felon. Furthermore, by not having the ability of a Police canine to work out in front of Officers, Officer involved shootings and use of force will increase having a negative countering effect. This bill goes extremely to far to encourage and embolden criminal activity that preys on the innocent men, women, and children of our society.
