The bill sponsor is a realtor and a minister, unqualified to define these terms. It’s hard for me to wrap my head around the concept that a minister is willfully harming people, but here we are.

The proposed "Defining SEX Act" is not just a bill; it's a regressive step that threatens the rights and dignity of transgender individuals. By rigidly defining terms like "boy," "girl," "man," and "woman" in a binary and narrow sense, this bill fails to recognize the diverse and valid experiences of transgender people. Moreover, by explicitly disassociating "gender" from "gender identity," it perpetuates a harmful narrative that disregards the lived realities of transgender individuals. Such legislation not only ignores the progress made towards inclusivity but actively reinforces discriminatory norms. It is imperative that we reject this bill, as it not only undermines the principles of equality and acceptance but also jeopardizes the well-being of transgender individuals who deserve respect, recognition, and protection under the law.
